Excursions to the remote islands of Estonian Archipelago

This is truly a Forgotten Secret – Social and economical changes which destroyed traditional ways of life after the Second World War left most of the smaller islands empty as they are to this day. But for the very few, the islands are waiting rediscovery. Many are under protection for their delicate ecosystems and cultural heritage.
Most of these tiny islets are uninhabited, some have preserved an unique and traditional culture – but all of these beautiful spots of wilderness have got a rich variety of wildlife.

With departures from Tallinn:
Naissaar (Women’s Island, form. Nargen) – historical site for piracy, former military base and today’s nature reserve in a close proximity to Tallinn Old Town. Here you can explore the sights, which include artillery stations, a Soviet sea-mine factory, abandoned fishermen village site, a still operational former mine-factory railway, museum and a church. Tour includes guided truck tour, smörgåsbord(on the way there) and lunch(on the way back) will be served on board.
On the Island of Naissaar there are over 10 abandoned military fortresses since 1730. Today the island is known for its untouched forests and beaches, lighthouses, working narrow-gauge railway and a rich heritage.
